Cricket 07 multiplayer update: shared mouse controls

Site update · · By Cricket07.net

We have deployed a shared-mouse update for the Cricket07.net friend multiplayer Beta. New friend rooms remain paused. This code release does not reopen room creation or add capacity. Single player remains available from the home launcher.

When room availability returns, both friends will need the updated multiplayer page. The changes below describe the new controls and the tests completed on October 31, 2026.

One cursor, controlled by both friends

Click the game once to focus it and try to capture the pointer. That first click does not also select a native menu item. Move the mouse and click again to use the original menus.

Both players move the same in-game cursor. Take turns navigating menus so that you do not pull it in different directions. Keyboard controls are still available; multiplayer continues to map each player’s keyboard to their own virtual controller.

Switching away releases held mouse buttons. Esc releases pointer capture and may also open the synchronized pause menu. After losing focus, click once again before selecting a menu item. If pointer capture is unavailable, relative movement works over the focused game canvas. See the shared mouse instructions and the single-player versus online key comparison.

Keep your Regular download and solo saves

The update uses a separate multiplayer engine. It keeps the existing Regular resource manifest and browser installation records, so a complete, verified Regular installation can be reused. You do not need to clear it or download the entire package again just to change controls. The updated engine is a separate download.

Single player continues to use its existing engine and save format. Friend matches use temporary data rather than your solo native saves. In the save-protection checks, original native save files remained byte-for-byte identical after the multiplayer match and browser cleanup.

Keep a separate backup through Export saves on the home launcher. Clearing browser site data can still remove installations and saves. Refreshing does not restore an unfinished multiplayer match.

What we actually tested

Two isolated Chrome profiles on one Mac ran real game engines. Both players moved the shared cursor and clicked native menus. Same-frame input summaries matched; a held mouse button released on both sides after focus was lost.

The two profiles completed a five-over Exhibition at Kolkata. Both result screens showed India at 30/1 and Bangladesh winning with 31/0 after 4.2 overs. The test included manual batting and bowling, followed by native Autoplay for the remainder of each innings. It was not an entirely manual match.

Separate real-engine checks covered room relay, a short connection interruption and reconnect, a longer disconnection, startup failure and cleanup recovery. Automated tests also checked malformed inputs, mismatched versions, shared room limits and analytics/advertising boundaries. Simulated high-refresh-rate input tests are not physical monitor tests.

These are same-computer tests, not certification across two devices or different networks. A new live room on the public cloud service was not created for this release because admission remains paused. The pause itself, deployed files and response boundaries were checked separately. We are not claiming different-network play, mobile touch support, Edge certification or a fix for the unverified Ashes rain scenario.

Why rooms remain paused

The friend Beta has a limited operating budget. This release preserves the pause rather than resetting its counters or increasing the allowance. There is no paid TURN service, public matchmaking or account system.

While room creation is paused, use single player. Preparing Regular resources does not reserve a room or remove the pause. If a room is unavailable, do not clear your solo saves to try to reopen it.

The runtime remains based on Dhaiwat Pandya’s cricket07-browser. Our maintained mouse build adapts ShivamSpm’s mouse-sync proposal with input validation and focus safeguards. Cricket07.net is independently operated.

Privacy choices

Game files and native saves use separate, necessary browser storage. Advertising changes take full effect on your next visit. Turning ads off hides the current slot; code already loaded can run until you leave or reload.
